Details
Take a winding trip through 12 states, from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to Atlanta, Georgia; from the blue and gray Civil War-inspired 1865 Jacket to the"Frankly My Dear"Fichu, an homage to the velvet drapery dress hand-sewn by Georgia's most famous fictional heroine. Projects include ladies' sweaters and accessories like the sweet Honeysuckle Lace Bridal Set and the bold Lighthouse Tunic, a unisex vest inspired by the caverns of Arkansas for the guys, for a lucky baby a charming bunting fit for a christening, plus home decor items such as a darling felted tea cozy adorned with knitted magnolia blossoms. Since no vacation is complete without a generous sampling of the local fare, there's food! Beth Moriarty shares a favorite Southern recipe in each chapter: luscious Red Velvet Cake, Bourbon & Brown Sugar Pralines, Pecan Divinity, Bananas Foster Bread Pudding and 8 more mouth-watering recipes featuring the four basic southern food groups -- butter, brown sugar, pecans and bourbon.
